Coaches vs. Cancer http://www.coachesvscancer.org is a national program that started in 1993.  The program consists of collegiate basketball coaches that raise money and direct those funds towards cancer research.  In 2002 Mark Few, head coach of the Gonzaga University Men’s Basketball team, and his wife Marcy joined other coaches and their wives from around the country in the fight against this terrible disease.

The GU Coaches vs. Cancer http://www.gucoachesvscancer.com staff engages corporate and individual sponsors in and around the Spokane community every year and has made this event among the largest of any of its kind in the United States.  The event has grown to a year-around fund raising drive that has raised in excess of $3.4 million dollars all of which is donated to local and national cancer research.

Jensen Distribution is now in our 5th year as a major sponsor of this event.  Each year in May our Vendor Partners join us from around the country at the world famous Coeur d’Alene Resort for 3 days of product seminars and a golf tournament.  The proceeds from this event are donated directly to the Coaches vs. Cancer program.  The funds are distributed to The American Cancer Society, and a number of local cancer care programs.  Jensen Distribution has most specifically directed its funding toward a local program called Camp Goodtimes.  At Camp Goodtimes children who are in various stages of cancer can attend camp with one “buddy.”  Each child’s needs are met at camp so that these innocent victims can spend a week trying to live a normal life.  We at Jensen Distribution Services are proud to help in the battle to fight this awful disease, most especially where it afflicts young children.

Through the support of our Vendor Partners and diligent work on the part of our staff, Jensen Distribution has been able to raise over $140,000 in donations to the Gonzaga University Coaches vs. Cancer program.

UNITED WAY

Each year, for as many years as most of us can remember, Jensen Distribution Services and their employees have made contributions to the Spokane United Way to help those less fortunate.  Over the years, thousands of dollars have been donated and put to good use.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS - Washington

Jensen Distribution Services proudly supports the Spokane Breakfast with Champions by sponsoring a table at this annual fundraiser.  Donations help provide resources needed to make a difference in the lives of the many intellectually disabled children and adults living in Washington State.

AMERICAN RED CROSS
Inland Northwest Chapter

We are a proud sponsor of the Hometown Heroes Luncheon to benefit the American Red Cross Inland Northwest Chapter.  This provides us with the opportunity to align Jensen Distribution Services with the critical community service mission of the Red Cross to help people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.

SPOKESMAN-REVIEW CHRISTMAS CHARITIES

The Spokesman-Review Christmas Fund exists because of the generous donations of the newspaper’s readers and area businesses. From Thanksgiving to Dec. 30, the paper accepts donations and publishes articles listing everyone who participates.

Then, through the expert coordination of Catholic Charities and the Volunteers of America, the money is used to open The Christmas Bureau for two weeks in December. The money buys thousands of high-quality toys in January when prices are low. The charities coordinate to gather and train more than 200 volunteers who help make the bureau run smoothly.

Jensen Distribution Services and their employees have been contributing to this fund since 1996.
